Politics Schmolitics

No matter your opinions regarding the upcoming election, you cannot deny that this race for President is certainly unique in its historical implications. Okay, you can deny it if you want (who am I to tell you want you can and cannot do), but I think it's significant. And, as I was one of the lucky 12,000 to get tickets to see Barack Obama during his recent Portland visit (well, it was recent when we went), Ben got to play hooky from school to ride MAX to the Rose Quarter to see him speak to a very excited crowd. Ry enjoyed his view from the safety (and confinement) of the Ergo.

As I didn't want to get up at 4 am, our seats weren't the greatest. But, it was still a moving experience and one I'm glad that boys were able to experience. Who knows, maybe someday Ben will be able to say to his grandchildren that he saw the president speak in Portland. Note: Ben took some of these pictures, including the self-portrait at the end.
