The Maui Ocean Center

We started our tourist activities at the Maui Ocean Center this morning. It's a nice aquarium with a great shark tank and tunnel. Part of the center seems a little dated (or perhaps we're jaded from having the last aquarium visit be to Monterey Bay), but we stumbled upon a super guide at several spots. He was very knowledgeable and gave a great presentation with the divers. The best part? No crowds. We were squished in Monterey, but here, it was relaxing and peaceful.

This pufferfish was my favorite. He wouldn't leave the diver alone and kept trying to break into the bag. The diver kept petting the fish and pushing it down. It was very dog-like behavior. And it's super cute in a homely kind of way.

Okay, the spotted eagle ray was pretty awesome, too. Graceful and voracious - it was an interesting combination.
